HR+ GO15

Cultural and Stuctural Change Programme Produces Major Performance Improvements at HR GO Group of Companies

HR GO Plc for the last five years had concentrated on rapid business growth, cheifly in the UK, but also in Europe, Africa and Australia with sales income up by over 40%. With the focus on growth, quite a number of continuing operations were failing to produce performance in line with company expectations.

HR GO Plc used HR+ Limited as the facilitator of a major cultural and structural change programme aimed at creating: an environment whereby organisation structures were realigned to changing demands of the business; a new approach to quality and productivity with emphasis on measurement of performance both at the micro and macro levels; organisational re-engineering with significant emphasis on empowerment of staff (reducing the need for excessive management); building staff competence through competency based needs analyses and meeting those needs through very practical training workshops; a major benchmarking exercise to establish how the company stood compared to its' competitors resulting in some specific productivity initiatives aimed at directly improving productivity and a complete re-drafting of business performance reporting for executive management to improve understanding of the business and speed of decision taking.

A fifteen month programme, known as GO15 was set, commencing on 1st October 2006 and ending on 31st December 2007. The programme has had a very significant impact on the company. Some of the achievements were as follows:

  • The number of specific business units meeting the Group's profitability standard increased by 260%
  • Sales per employee overall increased by 9%
  • Gross profit per employee increased by 5%
  • Staff turnover fell by 17%
  • Staff absenteeism fell by 11%
  • Customer satisfaction survey results showed improvements on all ratings

Jack Parkinson, Executive Chairman says that "the GO 15 programme has been a fantastic success and to achieve such spectacular performances in the year that the company celebrated its' fiftieth anniversary is the icing on the cake. As a premier business service group and the forty-seventh largest recruitment company in the UK, we need to be continually improving customer service and performance as continue our growth to towards the top of the table".

Compliance Audits: HR GO (Wells) Ltd

One of our HR Consultants carried out a compliance audit for HR GO (Wells) Ltd on 10 October 2007. Overall the aim was to guarantee the business was fully compliant so that the company could continue to provide a consistently high level of service to its' clients.

Operational practices and processes, in line with both statutory and compliance standards, were included in the audit. Areas audited were company health and safety, staff policies, staff performance issues, client requirements and temporary workers registration. In addition, clients were contacted independently and correct compliance with standards were verified.

The Manager throughout the audit was informed on how to remain compliant as well as being advised on what compliance requirements were met. The Manager was also coached on the areas where they were not fully compliant.

Implementing the recommendations made following the compliance audit will ensure that HR GO (Wells) Ltd continues to work towards zero defects whereby profits and revenue are increased through improved client satisfaction.
